Ecoholic: WWF and ACCA Pakistan call for entries for Pakistan Environmental Reporting Award

The World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF) Pakistan and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants, Pakistan (ACCA) have invited organizations to submit their reports for Pakistan Environmental Reporting Award.

The reports may include annual, social, and environmental or sustainability reports— reports disclosing information that depicts the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) of organizations.

The deadline for the submission of entries is February 1, 2013 and the awards will be given away in June 2013.

The award by ACCA and WWF Pakistan aims to encourage organizations that believe in transparency and, are willing to disclose impact information of their activities. The award is believed to be instrumental to raise awareness for environmental reporting in Pakistan.

The award was starting in the year 2002. The latest winners of the awards were: ICI Pakistan 1imited in 2011. In 2010, Engro Corporation limited had won the award for its best Sustainability Reporting and in the same year, the award was given to National Refinery limited for its best Environmental Report.

A high profile panel of judges including corporate leaders, environmentalists and media persons decides on the award through a criteria largely focused on credibility, completeness and transparency.
