Shaista Madad makes her way to the University of Cambridge
Shaista Madad of Beaconhouse Margalla Campus, Islamabad has been accepted for an undergraduate programme in Biological Sciences at the University of Cambridge. She has also been awarded the university’s prestigious 800th Anniversary Scholarship. This scholarship will cover 100 per cent of the tuition fees for the entire duration of her degree programme, along with an annual stipend to cover living expenses.
Hailing from Yasin Valley, GilgitBaltistan, Shaista has been actively engaged in the educational development of her own community. Her course at Cambridge will help her in contributing towards the educational development of her region by addressing issues in early childhood development and care. She hopes to become an example for other girls from her region, offering hope that with hard work and unwavering perseverance any dream can come true.
Along with an impeccable academic record, Shaista has an impressive profile in terms of being a student council member, accomplished public speaker, and budding journalist. She is the eldest daughter of Jan Madad, an Education Specialist who has served as General Manger of AKES,P (North).
