USEFP announces Fulbright scholarship 2018 for Masters and PhD programmes
The United States Education Foundation in Pakistan (USEFP) has announced Master and PhD Degree Scholarship Programme for the year 2018.
According to the eligibility criteria set by the officials, the candidates applying for the Master’s degree must have a four-year Bachelor’s degree or 16 years Master’s degree and for the PhD program, an applicant must have an M.Phil. or an 18 years Master’s degree. Applicants can apply for any discipline other than clinical medicine; however, Energy, Water and Agriculture are the priority fields.
According to a flyer shared by the foundation, the deadline for Fulbright intake 2018, is May 17, 2017 and all applicants have been advised that the Graduate Record Examination (GRE) is required for all and under the new scoring system, minimum scores of 138 in the verbal and 136 in the quantitative sections are required. Applicants must also possess a high level of fluency in spoken and written English. Short-listed applicants will be required to provide a proof of TOEFL registration with them at the time of interview.
All successful candidates are required to sign a contract with USEFP and, for successful PhD candidates, a bond with the HEC that binds them to return to Pakistan immediately after their program in the U.S. and serve the country for the number of years equivalent to the length of their scholarship program. This contract is redeemable on a year-for-year basis minimum of two years; as long as a person fulfils the service requirement, he or she will pay nothing.
Likewise, women applicants, people with disability, people from minorities, from remote areas like northern Sindh, Southern Punjab, Baluchistan, AJK, Gilgit-Baltistan and FATA have been encouraged to apply and avail of the opportunity to win the said prestigious scholarship.
