Hashoo Foundation organizes Hoper Festival in Ghizar district

Ghizar: A one day local level festival titled ”Hoper Festival” filled the ambience of Ghizer valley with flavors of indigenous culture .It is one of the festivals in the series those are going to be held in District Ghizer by Hashoo Foundation. It endeavors to revive the indigenous culture to empower economic empowerment to local artisans and create social harmony .

The festival had all cultural recipes one would love to see and want to be which includes, traditional dance, Shina and Khower songs,folk comedy and free style polo.

The day long event was well attended by more than 2000 spectators from all over Ghizer. Competitions for best singer, traditional dancer and standup comedian made spectators stand on heels.Competetion was judged by veterans singers of GB, Jabir Khan Jabir, Imtiaz Hussain Shaki and Raja Adil Gayas .

Munner Ahmad of Goharabad stood best singer, Hussain Jani of Gupis stood Best Comedian and twin brothers, Mir Azam and Shar Azam  from Bubar won the trophy for best traditional dancers .The traditional ritual of “Tao” was overwhelmingly appreciated by crowd.

Besides traditional music performers from Ghizer, musicians from Hunza District and singers from Gilgit also participated.

The performance of the day came from legendry folk singer Jabir Khan Jabir .His performance hardly left anyone on his chairs .Crowd of 2000 people couldn’t stop itself from traditional dance.

The last item of the day was traditional free style polo which was won by Ghizer Blue.  The efforts of Hashoo Foundation and Ghizer Arts and Culture Council were well appreciated by people.

Such remarkable efforts in culturally enriched regions like Ghizer would definitely help in cultural promotion.Prizes were distributed by Chief Guest Mr Bubul Jan Shams (Regional Program Manager Hashoo Foundation) and Mr Rahat Karim ( AD Tourism).

In his speech AD Tourism Rahat Karim thanked local administration, Ghizer Arts and Culture Council, Tourism department and people of Ghizer to support Hashoo Foundation's endeavors.
