West Indies beats India to enter the World T20 Cricket Final

AD Simmons, West Indies

West Indies successfully chased a total of 192 runs to enter the T20 World Cup Final, where they will play England.  After Viral Kohli's magnificent 89 runs,  India were able to get to 192, a decent total under the pressure of semifinal in front of a roaring home crowd. While all hoped a Gayle-Storm in West Indies run chase,  it was Simmons who stole the show. He won a jackpot in the form of a no-ball in the 15th over where he had lost the wicket.  The next ball was out in the stands for six. What else he was supposed to do with a free hit.  There was no look-back then onward. LMP Simmons scored 82 runs that included Seven 4s and Five huge 6s.

Earlier, Johnson Charles played a brilliant 52 runs innings that had set the path for AD Russell who played a 43 runs cameo while finishing the game with a commanding six.  As rightly said by the West Indies captain, they are on a mission in India.

"We knew it was going to be a massive step, against a very good India team, I must commend the whole team, we knew halfway they were 10 runs short. Even when we lost Gayle, Simmons just off the flight, he and Charles ... I was just praying we win the toss, I surprised myself winning five out of five. We came here on a mission, we were inspired by the U-19 boys earlier this year, the ladies won earlier today, now we have two West Indies team in the final. We feel this is this West Indies team against everyone else. everyone said Chris is under pressure but I said it, we have 15 match-winners. Today Charles, Simmons and Russell took that responsibility."

West Indian Cricket Teams, both women and men, have won the semis and they are going to play the final in Eden Garden on April 3, 2016.  England has lost to West Indies in this world cup. For them it is going to be a matter of revenge on a big stage.

Whoever wins the world cup, between England and West Indies, it will be the second time they become the champions. Both England and West Indies have won the T20  World cup once.
